Created by gaming startup VOID, ‘THE VOID’ is a “virtual entertainment center” that aims to revolutionize the gaming experience. Touted as the “world’s first” virtual reality theme park, the center will feature fantasy worlds where players slay dragons or fire weapons, while donning virtual reality headsets.
Players view their surroundings in 3D thanks to vests and a head-mounted display called ‘Rapture’. The vest utilizes “haptic feedback” that allows them to experience vibrations, as well as taps that provide sounds and sensations—these touches add up to convey an “unmatched realism”.
