There are some times that all you want to do is curl up in a ball and hide out somewhere. Your mom’s lap can feel like the safest place in the world when you are upset or scared. Taking this devotion to an almost pathological level is the desire to be inside her womb again! If you are one of these people, you will definitely love the HUSH, a womb-shaped sleeper created by Design Museum ‘artist in residence’ Freyja Sewell. This comfy looking sleeper was inspired by the womb, which is “is a warm, cozy space, for contemplation and rest” to Sewell. It represents a way to escape into a cocoon, away from all the hustle and bustle of all the crowds of people, away from technology that insists on keeping you connected at all times. It is the perfect way to “withdraw.” This chair is portable, and can be set up absolutely anywhere. The best part is that it is made completely out of recycled materials, heralding the next generation of green sustainable furniture.
