A Woven House

Located in the small Maharashtra town of Ichalkaranji, India, Woven House was designed by Sunil Patil & Associates with inspiration coming from the textile weaving industry that the city is known for. Throughout the house, the textiles can be spotted on the walls, furniture, and in the art, tying the interior to its locale.

The open living area boasts tall ceilings and skylights that fill the space with light and make it feel grand. The open floor plan and large windows with overhangs also help with natural ventilation, as the house is located in a hot, humid climate. The living room is flanked by stone clad walls that mimic the look of textiles.

In the center of the living area is a courtyard that brings a bit of nature inside. The interior palette centers around white walls, grey stone and ceramic flooring, and wood, creating a warm, inviting and clean feeling space.
