Laptop accessories are designed to improve the user experience, whether it’s a high quality headset and microphone that makes it easier to have a private conversation with a friend via Skype or an external keyboard that makes typing more comfortable. There are already a lot of different types of accessories available on the market but with the speed at which technology is progressing, there’s plenty of room for more.
You don’t need to reinvent the wheel to come up with creative ideas for laptop accessories. In fact, all you need to do is to improve on what’s already available. Sure, if you have a genius idea that you can pull off and will revolutionize the world of notebooks, then that’d be great. Can anyone say a laptop with an artificial intelligence program that has a personality? However, most of us aren’t Bill Gates, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t come up with a great idea that will make you a fortune. Here are a few ideas to get you started.
Different Layout Keyboard Covers
Some people speak multiple languages and some of those languages require different characters. So, if someone communicates in writing in these different languages, they can either use the insert symbol function on high-quality performance notebooks but typing fluidly can still be highly problematic. A powerful laptop, like the range of high-end Acer laptops, will insert a symbol quickly but the problem is that you have to stop, click, find the symbol, insert it and then go back to typing. When it comes to a language like French where it seems that every other letter has a diacritic, it can get irritating really quickly.
The other option is to switch to a different language keyboard. Unfortunately, that keyboard is only electronic and it takes a while to figure out where all the keys are, even if you have a printout of the keyboard’s layout.
Instead of a printout, though, a keyboard cover featuring different keyboard layouts could be created. Such a cover would not only make life a lot easier but it could also double up as a keyboard protector.
Customizable Notebook Skins
People like to make a statement. They like to be able to express their personalities in all aspects of their lives, so why not give them that chance by creating a customizable notebook skin? It could be something as simple as a sticker that is printed on demand or, you could take a page from Google’s development of wearable technology and go high-tech. You could develop an interactive skin that gives people the opportunity to change the look of their laptop on the fly. It could be an extremely thin LCD screen that attaches to the notebook’s cover and plugs into the unit, allowing the user to customize the external look of their laptops.
These are just two ideas of what you could create, from the very simple to the more complex. As you can see, though, both ideas center on one important aspect: solving problems. All you have to do is consider the problems people have with their laptops and develop a new idea or improve upon an existing one to solve their problems.
