Design Your Own Blank Label

Blank Label is a leading provider of custom dress shirts for the trendy male. We interview Danny Wong, the man behind the personalized menswear label:
What is Blank Label all about?
Blank Label is a provider of custom men’s dress shirts. We are looking to change the way young men shop through mass-customization, allowing for the co-creation of men’s apparel. With our platform, you can design your own dress shirt, so you don’t have to be subject the the designs of some “big label” or some “fancy designer” who doesn’t really understand you. You are an individual, and we are helping you, the consumer, express your individuality through your style, your dress. When you design your own dress shirt, you are expressing your personal creativity, and showcasing your individuality. You are also working with the us to create something that you want. We don’t want to impose any design or brand on you. We just want you to be who you are.
Why did you create Blank Label?
We created Blank Label because we saw a problem with mass-retail. Too many clothes were produced that weren’t consumed because not everyone wanted the designs that were created. Too many of the same clothes were being worn by different people. Where’s the creativity / individuality there? Retail stores were not fully understanding their consumer.
We solve the problem pain of you wanting a simple product, finding it in a retail store and then saying “oh no, I wish it didn’t have this feature, or that feature, or it’s missing this or that, or they’ve run out of my size!” We let you design it yourself so it’s perfectly the way you want it. Every find detail can be amended from having a custom colored collar (maybe a pink collar on a blue shirt), to changing the lining of the collar that surrounds your neck, to making it a split personality shirt (where one side is one color / pattern and the other half of your shirt is a totally different color / pattern).
It’s a cool idea because we empower the consumer to be the designer, to get involved with the whole retail process. We’re looking to revolutionize the retail industry. Isn’t that a cool business idea?
