CScout: The Free Cafe Harimaya Station is a sampling space created by centuries-old senbei (Japanese rice cracker) company Harimaya Honten. It opened its first space in Fukuoka in 2008, and now they have 7 cafes nationwide, with others planned, including in Paris and New York.
Visitors to the cafe are able to eat samples of the famous Harimaya senbei for no cost at all, and there are even basic drinks available for free. The only “rule” the owners have is that visitors respect the rights of others.
