Adidas launched the Innovation Lab pop-up shop in its Seoul flagship to promote the Springblade, a new running shoe which features individual elastic blades that mimic springs. The store is the culmination of six years of research conducted by the brand’s innovation team and creates an immersive sensory experience through a series of “labs,” complete with LED lights, touch screens, beakers and X-rays. In the first lab, customers watch an interactive video presentation on the brand’s research and development, and are encouraged to touch and feel the shoe. In the final lab, shoppers are encouraged to give the shoes a test drive on treadmills.
