Iconoculture: According to the National Sleep Foundation, half of Americans have driven drowsy and about 20% have actually fallen asleep at the wheel. In response, Mercedes-Benz is developing an eye-opening monitoring system called Attention Assist.
The system creates a driver’s profile based on normal steering patterns and driving behavior. If a driver deviates from that profile, it prompts a warning sound that suggests taking a break.
