Waterproof Pet Pads

Not all puppy pee pads are created equal, and WizSmart has set out to prove it. Reducing waste, using recycled materials and developing a product that serves longer than its counterparts is just the beginning.

Pet owners are making their voices heard. They want more sustainable options for their furry friends while purchasing the items they need for their dog’s food, fun, and waste needs. Therefore, WizSmart meets the need with pee pads made out of imperfect diapers that are diverted from the landfill after failing quality control tests. Rather than ditch the diapers, WizSmart converts them into a household product that protects the floor and gives Fido a place to go when he can’t get outdoors.

Upcycling the diapers means taking them apart and reconstructing them, adding in other materials like Eucafluff, which is the pulp from FSC-certified eucalyptus trees. The company also relies on plant-based sugarcane to make the protective liner on the pee pads as well as their plastic bags.

From puppy training to senior urgency, the pads are absorbent enough to protect wood flooring and other surfaces. Rather than swapping the pee pad out after each use, pups can use the same pad for up to 24 hours.\

The absorbent pad also keeps your pet’s paws clean and dry while tucking away liquids to avoid odors. WizSmart comes from a Brazil-based company called Petix that started in 2017 and is now moving into the U.S. market.

“We have just begun to scratch the surface in the U.S. market” added Krister Holm, Petix partner and co-founder of WizSmart. “We have proven in a short period of time that customers want a harder working, more sustainable pad and pet retailers want to offer better quality products. We are adding manufacturing capacity, expanding our product line, providing sales and content support for our retailers through PromoBoxx and investing in marketing to make WizSmart an industry leader in the U.S. and beyond.”
