A monitor, developed at the University of Strathclyde, to help prevent over-exposure to the sun is set to go on the market as part of a new spinout company.
The wristband device helps to indicate to users when they have been exposed to a certain amount of UV (ultra-violet) radiation by changing colour as the risk of over-exposure progresses, giving a visual warning of when it is time to get out of the sun.

Hi fantastic idea, I had some thoughts on this concept a few years ago, I stay in cape town South Africa , and have seen some real overexposure too the sun. Are you looking for agencies.
I think it is a very good idea that could be used by persons going on holidays. Only that ppl going on the beach for getting tanned wouldn’t like to wear a wrist band bur rather tan uniformly. I think it really depends on their motivation to avoid over-exposure
